These mats are great for starting conversations using art specific language. They contain keywords, word banks, colour theory and analysing art sentence starters.
This is a 12 page, A4 booklet that explains thoroughly what each Assessment Objective means and what it requires to achieve the grade desired.
Each AO then goes on to a checklist for students to check over their work and see if they have hit the criteria of each AO, as well as grade descriptors on the 1-9 system to assess where each of their assessment objectives are currently at.
The booklet was created using photographs of my own pupil's work, some from various blogs and grade descriptors from the AQA website.
Using the sheet, pupils must guess what they think the famous works of art have sold for at private auction. This encourages students to understand the world of art further, comprehending the value that is placed on paintings throughout the History of Art.
